New Zealand pilots can already buy P50B 4S1P packs from hobby shops. Molicel’s INR-21700-P50B is a 5000 mAh, 3.6 V, 18 Wh cell with a published 60 A continuous discharge (80 °C cutoff). It is a strong high-drain 21700, and it is the cell inside a lot of imported 4S1P Li-Ion packs on NZ shelves.

This is not an attack on P50B. Both cells are 5000 mAh 21700s. The difference that matters on a pack is continuous current, who builds it, and whether you can order a 2P or odd layout.

RS50 figures are from the official INR21700-RS50 datasheet. P50B continuous current is Molicel’s published 60 A rating (temperature cutoff 80 °C). Always check the sheet for the batch you buy.
What that means on a 4S or 6S pack
A Hyperflux 4S1P is 72 Wh at about 300 g with 70 A continuous. A Hyperflux 6S1P is 108 Wh at about 445 g with the same 70 A. A typical P50B 4S1P from a hobby shop is also ~5000 mAh / ~72 Wh, with 60 A continuous on the cell sheet. Energy is in the same class. Current headroom and the NZ workshop are not.
