Frequently Asked Questions
30-day returns on unused, uncharged shelf-stock packs in original packaging. Built-to-order and custom packs are made to the requested layout and leads, so they are not returnable unless they arrive damaged or do not match the agreed spec. Refunds go to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of the pack arriving back. You pay return freight unless the pack is faulty or we shipped the wrong item. Consumer Guarantees Act rights for faulty goods sit on top of this policy.
We ship NZ road freight only. Standalone lithium-ion packs are not sent by air or as ordinary letter post. Standard delivery is 3–5 business days after the pack is built and packed, with tracking on every order. Packs leave the Auckland workshop with terminals protected and at a transport-safe state of charge. Built-to-order 2P and custom packs ship after assembly. Lead time is shown on the product. We do not ship internationally.
Standard NZ road freight is $7.99. Orders over $50 ship free. Delivery is 3–5 business days after the pack is built and packed, with tracking on every order. New Zealand addresses only.
Hyperflux packs carry a 2-year limited warranty on manufacturing and material defects under normal use. It does not cover crash damage, puncture, water, incorrect charging (LiPo mode, unattended, below 0 °C), or packs altered after dispatch. For a faulty pack, use the contact form with your order number and photos. Where the Consumer Guarantees Act gives you a choice of remedy, that choice stands. Otherwise we repair, replace, or refund. This warranty sits on top of the Consumer Guarantees Act.
It comes down to your build's voltage. The 4S (14.4V nominal, 72Wh) suits 4S FPV and lighter robotics setups, while the 6S (21.6V nominal, 108Wh) carries 50% more energy for longer flights on demanding 6S platforms. Both share the same 5000mAh capacity and 70A continuous / 140A burst (5s) output.
These packs have no BMS and no onboard cutoff. Charge on a balance charger in Li-Ion mode (4.20 V/cell), balance lead connected, never LiPo mode, at 1C (5 A on 1P, 10 A on 2P). Never charge unattended. Charge on a hard surface in a fireproof bag. You set the flight cutoff. For storage longer than a few days, keep packs around 3.6–3.7 V per cell in a cool, dry place. Do not charge or fly a pack that has crashed, swollen, been punctured, or got wet. If a pack hisses, heats up, or smells sweet, leave it, get people out, and call 111 if it is burning. Every Black Series 1P pack is rated for 70A continuous and 140A burst (5-second pulse), the same numbers on the official Reliance RS50 datasheet. Our 2P packs double that to 140A continuous / 280A burst. High-drain tabless cells with low internal resistance hold voltage steady at cruise. Staying within these limits keeps the pack cool and protects cycle life. You can download the datasheet from any Black Series product page.
Lithium-ion packs lose some capacity and punch in the cold. For best results, keep packs above 15°C before a hard discharge and avoid charging below 0°C. Performance returns to normal once the pack warms back up.
We ship within New Zealand only. Lithium-ion packs are dangerous goods, and we do not ship them internationally yet. If you are a shop that can receive dangerous-goods freight, use the contact form.
Every cell we sell and build into our packs is a genuine Reliance INR21700-RS50, sourced directly. If you're buying loose cells for your own builds, what's on the wrapper is what you get: 5000mAh, 3.6V nominal, 70A continuous, 140A burst (5s). The official manufacturer datasheet is downloadable from every battery product page, so you can check our numbers against the source.
Yes. Our 2P packs (2S2P, 4S2P, 6S2P) pair cells in parallel to double capacity to 10000mAh while raising continuous discharge to 140A and burst to 280A (5s). You get longer flight time and the extra current. Need a capacity or voltage combination we don't stock? Use the custom battery request form and we'll build it to spec.
It depends on your build's weight and cruise throttle. As a guide, an efficient 7-inch long-range quad on the 6S1P typically flies 15–25 minutes, and a 4S cruiser on the 4S1P sees 10–20 minutes. A typical 1300–1500mAh LiPo gives 4–6 minutes. Lithium-ion carries over 50% more energy per gram than LiPo, so the harder you optimise for cruise, the bigger the gain. Racing and hard 1P freestyle still want LiPo, or step up to our 2P packs for the extra current.
The Reliance RS50 cells in every pack are rated on the manufacturer datasheet to hold 80%+ capacity after 500 charge cycles. A typical LiPo is roughly 100 hard cycles. Do the maths on a 4S1P: $99.99 over 500 flights is about 20 cents per flight, and each flight is two to three times longer than the LiPo it replaces. A cheaper pack that sags after a season still costs you sessions.

Safety Guide
- —No BMS. No low-voltage cutoff and no over-current cutoff on the pack. You set the flight cutoff.

- —Charge on a non-combustible surface, in a fireproof bag, while you are awake and present. Never below 0 °C.

- —Store around 3.6–3.7 V per cell, away from heat, moisture, and metal.
- —Loose cells: do not solder them, short them, or carry them loose with metal.
- —Dispose of damaged packs at a battery recycling facility. Do not put them in household waste.
